Jeanne (Stephanie) Choi

Jeanne is a first-year student at Stanford University studying Symbolic Systems, Computer Science, and Philosophy.

She previously served as CGEAI’s Head of Programs, where she led the public-facing #StopExplicitDeepfakes campaign, which amassed over 43,000 views, and co-authored two San Francisco Chronicle op-eds on explicit deepfakes. She also co-founded STOP, an initiative against high school explicit deepfakes, reaching 500+ educators.

As a Berkeley AI Safety fellow, she studied AI safety and co-first authored research on a practical theory of AI moral status, which she presented at the AAAI 2026 workshop “Foundations of Agentic Systems Theory” in Singapore. She is also a legacy national council member of the Girls Who Code Student Leadership Council, in which she developed a proposal for a GWC AI Ethics Hackathon.
