Programs

Our programs are built around a simple but powerful praxis: theory, action, and reflection. Through research, advocacy, and youth leadership, we tackle the structural inequities that shape how artificial intelligence is built, governed, and experienced.

1. Theory: Research & Ideas

We believe lasting change starts with understanding. Our research explores how emerging technologies reproduce gender inequities, and how we can imagine alternatives that center equity, dignity, and care.

What We Do:

  • Gendered Harms in AI Research Series — youth-led projects investigating issues such as femtech data privacy, algorithmic bias, and the underrepresentation of women in AI.

  • White Papers & Publications — accessible, open-source reports designed to bridge academic insight and community experience.

  • Youth Thought Leadership — essays, op-eds, and reflections from young researchers rethinking what equitable AI looks like.

2. Action: Education & Awareness

We turn research into action by empowering young people to lead advocacy, awareness, and education efforts that make AI safer and more inclusive.

Key Initiatives:

  • S.T.O.P. Campaign — a youth-led initiative addressing explicit deepfakes and student safety through four pillars:
Say Something, Take It Down, Offer Support, Punish Perpetrators. We equip schools with educational toolkits, train student ambassadors, and create model school policy frameworks for deepfake response.

  • StopExplicitDeepfakes — our flagship campaign raising awareness around the issue of explicit deepfakes.

Other Programs:

  • AI & Gender Literacy Curriculum — modular lesson plans and discussion guides for classrooms and youth organizations.

  • Workshops & Webinars — interactive sessions on AI literacy, digital safety, and tech-facilitated gender-based violence.

  • Partnership Projects — collaborations with organizations working in similar spaces to amplify youth-led advocacy.

3. Reflection: Community-Building & Listening

Our reflection work ensures that change is led with communities, not just for them. Through listening, convening, and representation, we build collective power and shape a shared vision for responsible technology.

What We Do:

  • Youth Coalition Network — a Slack-based community of 170+ youth leaders and 20+ school chapters collaborating on equitable tech initiatives.

  • Listening & Ideation Sessions — structured dialogues where youth share experiences and help define CGEAI’s next steps.

  • Representation at Convenings — youth delegates bring gender equity to the forefront of global AI conversations at spaces like UN summits and responsible tech convenings.
